Job Title: Registered Dietitian - Inpatient Nutrition Coverage

Location: Upstate Center for Children's Behavioral Health at Hutchings Center and Upstate University Hospital Inpatient Clinic

Summary:

We are seeking a registered dietitian to provide primary inpatient nutrition coverage in our pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical nutrition therapy, nutrition assessment, and malnutrition diagnosis and treatment.

Estimated Salary: $73,250 per year (based on full-time employment)

Job Description:

Nutrition Care Delivery:

Deliver high-quality Medical Nutrition Therapy to and conduct thorough nutrition assessments of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients through accurate documentation in the medical record.

Malnutrition Assessment and Treatment:

Detect and acknowledge the presence of malnutrition through comprehensive screening, diagnosis, intervention, and monitoring to improve nutrition status, reduce length of stay, and decrease medical costs.

Nutrition Support Therapies:

Select and manage enteral and parenteral formulae based on individualized energy needs or laboratory results, add medications and supplements as needed, and provide personalized nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families.

Quality Improvement:

Participate in facility-wide and department Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) Program, quality teams, staff development, patient care rounds, and professional programs to enhance processes and patient care.

Requirements:

Certified Registered Dietitian with Commission on Dietetic Registration and Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist licensure in New York State within six months of hire required. At least two years of experience in healthcare as a Registered Dietitian with experience in pediatric and adolescent psychiatrics preferred. Master's Degree with a focus on Nutrition or related field and Board Certification in Pediatrics, Adult Nutrition, or other specialty areas desired.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional weekends and holidays
