Job Overview

Position Summary: The Compliance Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring that all banking operations adhere to relevant federal, state, and local regulations. Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; specialized training in risk management; industry certifications are a plus.

Experience:
At least two (2) years of experience in a compliance role is required.

Key Responsibilities

The Compliance Officer is responsible for:

  • Conducting compliance risk assessments, including annual evaluations to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Evaluating new products and services for compliance risks prior to implementation.
  • Collaborating with the Risk Management Council to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Establishing systems to monitor changes in banking laws and regulatory guidelines.
  • Overseeing compliance testing and reporting compliance risks to senior management.
  • Identifying operational compliance risks and determining appropriate risk management strategies.
  • Assisting with compliance initiatives related to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  • Supporting the Risk Management Department in achieving its annual goals and budget adherence.
  • Facilitating compliance training programs and maintaining compliance resources.
  • Investigating consumer complaints and compliance violations, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Occasional movement within the office environment.
  • Frequent communication with team members.
  • Regular use of hands and wrists for tasks.
  • Capability to assess the quality and thoroughness of work.
