We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at ProMedica Health System. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the highest level of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Procure and distribute medication orders, fill physician orders, and replenish medication surgical kits and automated dispensing machines.
- Prepare intravenous admixtures and other sterile preparations safely and accurately, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Assist in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing medications and supplies, and repackage bulk medications in unit-dose packages.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to meet departmental goals, establish effective communication, and foster a culture of patient safety.
- Perform training and in-services for new employees and current staff members, and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide excellent customer service, maintain professional relationships with colleagues, patients, and families, and adhere to ProMedica's mission and values.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Pharmacy Technician Training Program a plus.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) registration or Pharmacy Intern License with Ohio or Michigan Board of Pharmacy required.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift materials up to 50 pounds, and perform manual manipulations that may affect hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.
