Role Purpose

The selected candidate will be responsible for developing comprehensive studies, plans, specifications, and performance assessments related to the design, construction, and operation of Exelon's electric generation and distribution systems. This role involves providing expert consultation and recommendations based on thorough analysis of both company-owned and customer-owned systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Execute engineering tasks for critical projects or multiple smaller projects with complex features. (50%)
  • Handle assignments in areas where engineering precedents are limited or require extensive experience. (30%)
  • Assess, develop, and implement projects with moderate financial and operational implications. (10%)
  • Act as a subject matter expert in specific areas, which may include delivering training sessions. (10%)

Job Scope

  • Influence project decisions that have a significant impact on the organization, including leading teams in the commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Utilize technical expertise to promote a safe working environment and enhance customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a valid Professional Engineer license.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting complex electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Experience with complex field testing equipment.
  • 4-7 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Broad understanding of regulations, standards, and advanced engineering principles.
  • Completion of two related career experiences or progress towards an advanced technical degree or certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or coursework in Engineering, Business Administration, or Project Management.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Exceptional teamwork and communication skills.
  • Experience in transmission line engineering and structural engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with transmission line analysis software.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify improvements for system reliability.
