As a key member of our survey department, you will be responsible for managing survey consultants/Port technicians through all phases of Port hydrographic and land survey projects.

Job Summary:

  • Perform/direct hydrographic surveys along the Columbia River between Astoria and Portland for the Dredge 'Oregon' operation in accordance with the United States Army Corps of Engineers contract.
  • Manage survey consultants/Port technicians through all phases of Port hydrographic and land survey projects.
  • Prepare project scope of work, appropriate methods/equipment, and cost estimates for the survey aspect of engineering and land development projects.
  • Provide leadership and professional/technical support, expertise, and guidance to Port staff, Port operating areas, and outside consultants/agencies for development of Port projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in surveying/geomatics with specific focus on land and hydrographic surveying or related field; or extended experience and associate degree (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working as a land and hydrographic surveyor; with successful experience as a project lead/manager of hydrographic and land surveying projects; demonstrated leadership, judgment, and technical/professional competence related to surveying, design, boundary determination, land divisions, hydrographic and construction.
  • Oregon Professional Land Surveyor license (required); ACSM-THSOA Certified Hydrographer (preferred); valid Oregon or Washington driver's license (required).
