Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist to join our team as an Autism Therapist. The successful candidate will provide individualized therapy and interventions to students with autism spectrum disorders, assess their progress, and support the development of social and language skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans for students with autism spectrum disorders
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, including speech and language therapy, social skills training, and behavioral interventions
  • Assess student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities to stay current on best practices in autism therapy
  • Use data-driven approaches to inform therapy decisions and evaluate program effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain relationships with families and caregivers to ensure seamless communication and collaboration

Requirements

  • NYS License as Speech and Language Pathologist
  • NYS TSHH or TSLD Certification
  • Understanding of the needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or other developmental disabilities
  • PROMPT trained
  • Knowledge of NYS Common Core Standards and RTI
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Computer proficiency (e.g., data base, word processing, etc.)
