Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Novant Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing echocardiograms and other cardiac ultrasound procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality echocardiograms and other cardiac ultrasound procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Maintain a high standard of medical ethics and adhere to established departmental procedures.
  • Work closely with cardiologists to obtain optimal echocardiography quality and provide diagnostic digital images and hemodynamic data for physician interpretation.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental performance.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
  • Graduate from a formal Cardiovascular Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in cardiac sonography, preferred.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer, credentials RDCS or RCS, required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to effectively operate sonographic equipment.
  • Ability to evaluate echocardiogram in order to acquire appropriate diagnostic information.
  • Ability to shift workload to meet patient needs.
  • Ability to use independent judgment to acquire the optimum echocardiogram information in each examination performed.
  • Ability to follow established departmental procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations.
