Essential Qualifications for Assistant Wellness Director:

  • Preferred qualifications include a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State. Experience in Assisted Living or Memory Care settings is advantageous, along with prior supervisory experience.
  • A degree in healthcare, mental health, or social services, or a valid Health Facility Administrator license is required.
  • At least one year of experience working with dementia or Alzheimer's patients within the last five years is necessary.
  • Completion of a minimum of 12 hours of dementia-specific training within the past three months is required.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety regulations, operational instructions, and procedural manuals is essential. The ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively in group settings is also necessary.
  • Strong mathematical skills for handling various measurements and calculations are required.
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills are essential.
  • Capability to navigate complex situations and problem-solve effectively is crucial.

Key Responsibilities for Assistant Wellness Director:

  • Lead and manage your team, ensuring accountability for their performance.
  • Oversee revenue, evaluations, and care conferences for Independent Living/Assisted Living, ensuring appropriate care delivery with the right staffing.
  • Foster employee engagement by establishing clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and recognizing staff contributions.
  • Supervise resident and family care, ensuring clear and consistent communication with families as appropriate.
  • Accountable for understanding and implementing the 1440 care standards.

Additional Responsibilities for Assistant Wellness Director:

  • Conduct admission and ongoing evaluations of residents quarterly or as needed, using findings to set measurable goals that address physical, mental, and psychosocial needs.
  • Obtain necessary written orders for any adjustments to care plans.
  • Complete six hours of dementia-specific training annually to meet the needs of cognitively impaired residents and stay updated on care standards.
  • Verify medication administration records and collaborate with pharmacy to ensure accuracy.
  • Review incident reports submitted by staff to determine if further assessments or care conferences are needed.
  • Organize educational health sessions for residents.
  • Communicate emergency policies and provide staff with updated information.
  • Strive for continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Availability for a flexible schedule, including on-call duties, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Work Environment:

This role requires prolonged periods of standing and effective communication with others. Employees must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for various tasks, including handling equipment and documents. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be necessary. The work environment is moderate in noise level, and occasional travel to different locations may be required.
