Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Resource Special Education Teacher to join our team for the full school year. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students, ensuring their unique needs are met.
  • Adapt and modify curriculum and teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success and progress.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Provide a safe and nurturing classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student progress and performance.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student goals and progress.

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • State certification in Special Education
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
  • Experience with IEP development and implementation
SPED Certifications
  • Oregon Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Special Education
  • Specific endorsements may include Learning Disabilities (LD), Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitive Impairment (CI), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and others as required
  • Completion of all necessary continuing education requirements to maintain certification
