Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Project Accountant to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing and overseeing requisition forms, engaging with clients and stakeholders regarding collections, and ensuring the smooth distribution of reports along with other essential project accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of the business landscape to provide valuable analytical insights to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage monthly requisitions and payment applications in line with contractual agreements.
- Generate invoices and maintain change order documentation.
- Track, communicate, and resolve outstanding issues related to assigned projects.
- Compile and produce cash management and forecasting reports for upper management using internal tools.
- Organize and maintain billing job folders in a systematic and accessible manner.
- Conduct analysis of job costs and evaluate profit/loss for assigned projects.
- Engage regularly with clients and internal teams regarding collections, approvals, and billings.
- Collaborate with Project Management on billing matters, change orders, and financial analysis.
- Review and prepare necessary waivers or tax certificates.
- Prepare Certified Payroll, Insurance, and M/WBE reports as needed.
- Actively participate as a team member, taking responsibility for all accounting matters related to assigned projects.
- Assist the Director of Project Accounting, Controller, and CFO with additional accounting tasks.
- Consistent and reliable onsite attendance is crucial for this role.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years of experience in subcontractor project accounting.
- Experience with Viewpoint by Vista construction ERP software is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment with minimal supervision.
Compensation: $75,000 - $120,000
