About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Control Systems Technician to join our team at CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS). As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our material handling equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Performance: Troubleshoot and maintain material handling equipment (MHE) such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, and SCADA devices/programs to ensure optimal performance.
  • System Management: Manage material handling control systems, industrial, motor control systems, servo and frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems to prevent downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Partner with Controls Technicians and Mechanics to resolve equipment electrical problems, communicate technical issues to site and operations leadership, and cultivate positive working relationships with our Client and the Operations Maintenance team members.
  • Safety and Compliance: Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience working with Motor Controls, repair of control network components, HMI components, Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs, and Industrial and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Skills: Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Associate degree in electronic technology (or similar field).
  • Experience: 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Control Systems troubleshooting/programming.
  • Skills: Experience supporting a range of different conveyors and sortation systems, robotic maintenance, AB RS LOGIX 5000 PLC's and PLC components, SCADA systems, and KPI's.
