Key Responsibilities
  • Freight Planning: Ensure customer freight is planned for on-time pickup and delivery, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Capacity Management: Understand daily capacity needs and opportunities, proactively communicating with fleet managers and customer service teams to optimize resource allocation.
  • Network Optimization: Work with operations personnel to execute network optimization plans, eliminating long-term and short-term imbalances, and ensuring customer service commitments are met.
  • Driver Management: Review drivers' Hours of Service Logs for available hours, ensuring compliance with regulations and maximizing driver utilization.
  • Trailer Pool Management: Assist in managing trailer pools in designated markets, maintaining direct contact with organization members to coordinate and increase the efficiency of driver, truck, and trailer assignments.
  • Utilization Maximization: Maximize utilization by minimizing dwell under loads, identifying opportunities to re-appoint loads, convert to drop trailer pools with customers, and optimize trailer pool requirements.
  • Customer KPIs: Understand area customer KPIs, including trailer pool requirements, service numbers, commitments (lanes/volume and transit), and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities that improve financial performance and service levels, enhancing the value proposition for internal and external customers.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business or logistics or equivalent.
  • Experience: Three years of experience in motor carrier operations.
  • Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in preparing and entering information, and excellent communication skills.
  • Personal Qualities: Positive attitude, team player, strong leader, and effective stress and time management skills.
