Job Description: Senior Tool & Mold Maker

This role works from blueprints and sketches to create or modify prototypes, tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds. The ideal candidate will have experience with Computer Aid Drafting (CAD) / Computer Aid Machining CAM) and MasterCAM software. A strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of stamping presses, press controls, dies and tooling, feeders, straighteners, and other equipment are required.

  • This position involves designing templates and jigs for product fabrication, using sketches, blueprints, specifications, and models to plan and fabricate or modify prototypes, tools, molds/dies, jigs, and fixtures.
  • The candidate will be responsible for creating custom tools using lathes, grinders, mills, calculating dimensions and tolerances, inspecting, setting up, and testing machinery and equipment.
  • They will also complete first run/First Article, mid-run point, and final inspections on jobs to ensure products/molds meet specifications and quality standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent preferred, completion of apprenticeship or trade school certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' related experience as a Tool & Mold/Die Maker.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software, particularly MasterCAM.
  • Strong math skills and ability to visualize and compute shapes and tolerances.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
  • Extensive experience using hand power tools and machine tools.
Compensation

$75,000 - $90,000 per year based on qualifications and location.
