Job Summary:

MEDSTAR HEALTH is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in assisting interventional radiologists in the performance of complex diagnostic and therapeutic angiographic procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and/or assist in all angiographic and interventional imaging procedures, including myelography, arthrography, and venography.
  • Prepare and position patients, and operate/monitor imaging devices during procedures.
  • Evaluate radiographs for technical accuracy and quality, and ensure that studies are properly identified and filed in patient film jackets.
  • Verify the procedure(s) performed as indicated by the physician on the superbill.
  • Utilize physical assessment skills, monitoring devices (pulse, respiration, blood pressure, EKG), intravenous care, and aseptic techniques in providing patient care.
  • Complete required quality control and quality assurance records, and summarize services rendered for statistical reports.
  • Ensure that supply levels in the procedure rooms are adequate and notify the individual responsible for ordering replenishment stock when appropriate.
  • Take call on a rotating basis for after-hours/weekend coverage.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or 1+ years formal training in an AMA-approved program in Radiologic Technology.
  • 4+ months of job-related experience in the performance of angiography and other complex radiological examinations.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) examination and be ARRT certified.
