Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at FreshDirect. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining plant equipment, executing the plant preventive maintenance program, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Effectively assist in maintaining plant equipment, primarily related to manufacturing kitchen appliances and refrigeration equipment.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Assist in executing the plant preventive maintenance program to ensure equipment is running efficiently and effectively.
  • Safety and Compliance: Use of ladders will be required, and you must have a strong working knowledge of all facets of manufacturing equipment and procedures.
  • Tool Operation: Use of power tools and hand tools is necessary for this role.
  • Project Support: Able to work on painting and spackling projects as needed.
  • Ticket Completion: Responsible for completing tickets and partnering with L2 and Supervisor for advanced repairs as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of repair and maintenance experience.
  • Skills: Exceptional ability to work on directed tasks, complete on time with good quality.
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of electricity and hazards of electricity.
  • Certifications: OSHA safety certification is a PLUS.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Work Environment: In a workday: standing/walking 8-12 hours.
  • Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Physical Abilities: Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
  • Motions: Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure: Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Temperature: Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
  • Temperature Extremes: Possible work assignments may include building zones below zero temps.
  • Temperature Range: May be required to work up to 10 hours in 32–38-degree temps.
