Position Overview

This role involves working as a Production Line Operator at Daybreak Foods, specializing in the processing of eggs. Under the guidance of the Processing Supervisor, the individual will engage in various tasks to ensure the delivery of the highest quality products.

Core Responsibilities
  • Food Safety and Quality Assurance
    • Execute all duties in strict compliance with HACCP, SQF, cGMP's, and regulatory standards.
    • Adhere to food safety principles diligently.
    • Handle and store products and materials to prevent damage or contamination.
    • Inspect products to confirm adherence to quality benchmarks.
    • Maintain hygiene standards for personnel and processes.
  • Operational Duties
    • Sort and align eggs entering the washing section.
    • Facilitate the seamless transfer of eggs from the main conveyor to the accumulation station.
    • Maintain cleanliness in the work area, disposing of inedible materials appropriately.
    • Clean washer screens regularly.
    • Conduct chemical checks and manage foam control in washers, reintegrating re-wash eggs into the production flow.
    • Sort eggs post-washing according to standard operating procedures.
    • Ensure smooth egg transition from the transfer room to the breaking machine.
    • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the area.
    • Sort broken eggs, removing any defective or contaminated eggs and shells.
    • Perform cleanup tasks in compliance with USDA standards in designated areas after production shifts.
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience in food manufacturing or processing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with safety programs and processes, including Confined Space, LOTO, Hazcom, etc.
  • Proficiency in operating relevant equipment.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk continuously; frequently grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 10 pounds; occasionally sit, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, water, and chemicals. The temperature is controlled for operational standards, with cooler conditions in specific areas. The noise level is typically moderate. Proper personal protective equipment is mandatory during certain tasks. Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) is required due to the food manufacturing setting.

The starting wage for this position is $16.10, with incremental raises available as skills and qualifications develop.
