Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Polysomnographic Technician to join our team at Ogden Clinic. As a Polysomnographic Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our sleep disorder program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze patient information to identify specific needs and determine testing parameters.
  • Complete and verify documentation, including sleep stages and clinical events.
  • Explain pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to patients.
  • Prepare and calibrate equipment for testing, ensuring proper functioning and making adjustments as needed.
  • Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted standards.
  • Perform physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals and make necessary adjustments.
  • Fit positive airway pressure (PAP) masks and follow procedural protocols to collect artifact-free data.
  • Document routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, to facilitate scoring and interpretation of results.
  • Implement interventions, verify collected data, and provide age-specific care during diagnostic and treatment sessions.
  • Maintain equipment and perform routine and complex care and maintenance tasks.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with on-the-job training.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting documents, including safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups.
  • Maintain CPR or BCLS certification, as required by laboratory policies.
  • Effective time management and ability to multitask.
  • Basic computer knowledge and experience with word processing.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent standing, using hands/fingers, reaching, balancing, talking, and hearing. Occasional walking, sitting, stooping, and crouching may be required. Regular lifting/moving up to 10 pounds, frequently 25 pounds, and occasionally 50 pounds is also necessary. Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The employee may be exposed to infectious agents, including blood-borne pathogens.
