Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Co-op Research Scientist to join our dynamic team in the Fluid Biomarkers group at Biogen. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and characterizing relevant biomarkers in support of multiple programs across the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Search literature and databases to identify cell-type specific extracellular vesicle biomarkers of interest
  • Isolate and characterize extracellular vesicles from various biofluids using different platforms and develop in-house assays to measure specific analytes
  • Perform tissue RNA extractions, qRT-PCR, and immuno-based assays in support of programs as needed
  • Collect and aliquot plasma from K2 EDTA whole blood and maintain detailed logs and inventories of samples
  • Participate in and support other laboratory initiatives as needed
Qualifications
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and organized
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment
  • Experience in immuno-based platforms or molecular techniques is a plus
