Veterinary Care Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Portland, Oregon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triage and obtain patient history
- Obtain and monitor vital signs on incoming and hospitalized patients
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and orderly working environment
- Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR
- Communicate with clients to provide inpatient updates
- Provide phone triage to assess potential ER cases
- Place peripheral IVC's and learn to place advanced catheters such as Central Lines or PICC lines.
- Monitor and care for hospitalized patients
- Perform diagnostics and outpatient care
- Work alongside other skilled technicians and assistants in providing excellent, advanced medicine to your patients
- Have a passion for both mentoring other co-workers as well as learning from them
- Feel gratification of nursing critically ill patients back to health and reunite them with their pet parents
