Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist and/or Certified Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the operating room, ensuring a smooth and efficient surgical experience for patients. This individual prepares the room and gathers necessary supplies, delivers instruments to the surgeon and other team members, and assists in the decontamination process post-operatively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room and gather necessary supplies for surgical procedures
- Deliver instruments to the surgeon and other team members intra-operatively
- Assist in the decontamination process post-operatively
- Monitor the sterile field and provide aid in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist school or equivalent military training
- 20+ years of experience as a Surgery Tech
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
- Strong clinical knowledge of the operating room environment
Work Environment:
The Surgical Technologist will work in a fast-paced operating room environment, collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure.
