Mount Prospect Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Overnight Youth Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our residential facility, you will play a pivotal role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for our young residents.
Responsibilities:- Assist second shift faculty in completing bedtime routines.
- Prepare residents for the day during wake-up routines and ensure a seamless transition to first shift.
- Seek information pertinent to residents' acute issues that may affect the overnight period.
- Conduct 15-minute bed-checks with compassion and in accordance with policy.
- Provide floating crisis support to residents engaging in unsafe behaviors.
- Encourage resident success and engagement.
- Practice 100% supervision of residents.
- Celebrate resident successes, reinforce positive behavior, and encourage growth from adversity.
- Engage and connect with residents as a compassionate and understanding professional.
- Associate or bachelor's degree or 60 college credits.
- OR the equivalent of 2 years of full-time experience working with children.
- OR any combination of credits in human services and experience with children that totals 2 years.
