The successful candidate will lead structural engineering efforts, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Structural Engineering Leadership: Serve as the structural lead engineer, preparing design change packages and coordinating interdisciplinary teams to meet deadlines and budget.
  • Technical Expertise: Perform structural calculations and evaluations supporting the design of piping, cable, small equipment supports, instrument racks, floor load impacts, and seismic response evaluations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with plant stakeholders to define project scope and requirements and support construction, implementation, and start-up activities.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and ensure accuracy and compliance of completed work by others, coordinate efforts between the structural group and other disciplines.
  • Project Management: Develop material estimates, work-hour estimates, and engineering and design schedules.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Certification: Professional Engineering (PE) license (ability to obtain a PE in Texas).
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in industrial steel and concrete design for heavy industrial facilities.
  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain unescorted access within a nuclear power plant.
  • Nuclear Experience: Nuclear experience in a U.S. operating plant.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Experience: 5+ years of experience in structural modifications and evaluations at commercial nuclear power plants.
  • Design Engineer Qualifications: Existing Design Engineer qualifications at a commercial nuclear power plant.
  • Nuclear Standards: Familiarity with nuclear standards and guidelines.
  • NANTeL Certification: NANTeL certification in the Nuclear Standard Design Process (IP-ENG-01).
  • Field Experience: Field experience at an operating nuclear plant.
Compensation

The salary for this position is $130k - $170k annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
