Key Responsibilities- Inspect and Evaluate Aircraft Repairs: Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft repairs and modifications to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Supervise Technical Inspections: Plan, conduct, and supervise technical inspections of aircraft structures, structural components, and engines.
- Apply Technical Knowledge: Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation.
- Lead Small Groups: Lead small groups independently and provide oversight updates to program leadership.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with aircraft configuration control, oil analysis program, and test measuring diagnostic equipment calibration.
- Provide Guidance: Provide guidance to lower-level technicians on aircraft repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures.
- Contribute to Quality Control: Contribute to the development and implementation of quality control and ground safety programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
- Broad Knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance: Broad working knowledge of aircraft maintenance, inspection techniques, FAA regulations, and technical publications.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, leadership abilities, and personnel management skills.
- Technical Knowledge: Detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools, such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer data entry skills for use of maintenance and logistics databases.
- Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance.
- Recent Aircraft Maintenance Experience: Five years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.
- FAA Licenses: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P) and valid (current) FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
- Security Clearance: Security Clearance appropriate to the level required for the work.
- Leadership Experience: Satisfactory completion of the 15-series career management field Advanced Leadership Course (formerly BNCOC), AMOC, or possess a Federal Aviation Administrations (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P).
- Lifting: Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Work Environment: Work may be outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
- Exposure to Hazards: May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft, fumes or airborne particles, electrical shock hazards, or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.
