Key Responsibilities
  • IT Infrastructure Management
    • Design, integrate, and deploy VMware IT solutions.
    • Provide operational engineering support to enterprise-level virtual infrastructure solutions.
    • Participate in on-call after-hours escalation responsibilities, supporting after-hours/weekends/holidays/shutdowns.
  • Cybersecurity Management
    • Oversee Splunk logging efforts.
    • Prioritize security vulnerability issues, such as TLS.
    • Represent VGE on security meetings, such as CVMG and CyberOps.
  • Monitoring and Staff Management
    • Coordinate with ESOC on monitoring issues.
    • Work with monitoring teams, such as SCCM, for GITM monitoring/alerting posture.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in an information technology or related field or 10 years of progressive, related experience.
  • Technical Skills
    • VMware and vSphere design, integration, and deployment.
    • Knowledge or training on VMware and ESX 7.0+ deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
    • Experience with security analysis and remediations.
  • Soft Skills
    • Excellent communications and customer management skills.
    • Strong ability to multi-task and work independently.
Desired Qualifications
  • Additional Technical Skills
    • Active Directory experience, particularly in a large environment.
    • Strong scripting skills.
    • LAN/WAN networking experience.
  • Desirable Certifications
    • ITIL v3 Foundation concepts.
Clearance and Location

This position requires a Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. The location for this position is Springfield, VA, with normal business hours and local travel.
