The primary duties of this position include:

  • Medication Administration: Demonstrate proficiency in administering prescribed medications via oral, topical, and rectal routes, adhering strictly to physician directives and established medication policies.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Vigilantly observe residents for any physical or behavioral changes, promptly notifying the Charge Nurse of any concerns, including adverse reactions or complaints.
  • Documentation: Accurately record all medication administrations in accordance with company policies, ensuring compliance and accountability.
  • Safety and Security: Maintain the security of the medication cart and ensure a safe environment free from hazards.
  • Infection Control: Follow stringent infection control protocols during medication administration and resident care.
  • Training and Compliance: Attend mandatory training sessions and maintain required certifications to uphold professional standards.
  • Resident Rights: Uphold and respect the rights of all residents, reporting any violations in accordance with company policies.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a state-approved CMA certification training program, with current good standing.
  • A valid driver's license or reliable transportation.
  • Preferred experience of at least one year in a nursing assistant role within a skilled rehabilitation or long-term care setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records is advantageous.
