Sterile Processing Specialist

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper processing and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment. This includes decontaminating, cleaning, and packaging instruments for surgical cases, clinics, and nursing units. The ideal candidate will have basic computer skills, understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Reassemble and package instrument sets accurately and efficiently
- Perform manual and mechanical cleaning of reusable instrumentation and equipment
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness and defects
- Restock specialty carts and Omnicells as necessary
- Document completed work and verify processing parameters
- Sterilize instrument sets according to departmental policies and procedures
- Pick supplies for same day/next day surgical cases
- Answer telephone calls from internal and external customers
