We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Representative to join our team at Erie Insurance. As a Claims Representative, you will be responsible for handling liability and property claims within designated authority, ensuring compliance with applicable state insurance laws, regulations, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate and adjudicate claims within designated authority, verifying coverage and establishing reserves as needed.
- Secure recorded statements, draft and process correspondence, reports, and records, and obtain additional information to determine liability.
- Evaluate and negotiate claims, recognizing subrogation opportunities and initiating action.
- Set up and/or issue payment using ERIE's approved payment methods for settlement, or decline payment within designated authority.
- Respond to inquiries from policyholders, agents, insurance carriers, claimants, assigned experts, and others.
- High school diploma or GED and two years of related claims handling or customer service experience, or equivalent educational experience.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred.
- Successful completion of Introduction to Insurance (INTRO) and Introduction to Claims (AIC 30) preferred.
- Obtain appropriate licenses as required by state within 45 days of employment in the role for external applicants and 90 days of employment in the role for internal applicants.

Work EnvironmentThis role will work remotely and requires the ability to move over 50 lbs using lifting aide equipment, frequent manual keying/data entry/inputting information/computer use, and occasional climbing/accessing heights.
