Job Summary:

The Qualified SWPPP Practitioner will be responsible for supporting environmental and stormwater compliance projects, including assisting clients in complying with stormwater regulations and preventing pollutants from entering our waterways. This role will involve conducting stormwater inspections, developing and implementing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and/or site stabilization plans, conducting stormwater sampling, and preparing related documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct stormwater inspections and sampling to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Develop and implement SWPPPs and/or site stabilization plans to prevent pollution
  • Assist clients in complying with stormwater regulations and permits
  • Prepare related documentation and reporting, including reports and presentations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
Requirements:
  • BS or BA degree in an environmental discipline, sciences, or engineering
  • At least 2-4 years of relevant experience in SWPPP, including sampling and analysis, non-stormwater and stormwater visual observations, and preparation of Rain Event Action Plans
  • Knowledge of water quality or stormwater management information, techniques, practices, laws, and regulations
  • Knowledge of the California State Water Board Permits
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current QSP/QSD Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • Relevant certification such as CESSWI, CPESC, CPSWQ, and/or QISP
  • Experience with the California Stormwater Multiple Application and Report Tracking System (SMARTS)
  • Familiarity with the California Stormwater Construction General Permit and CASQA Construction Handbook
  • Competency with ArcGIS Pro
