This role involves overseeing division-level planning and coordination for all IT-related functions, including projects, asset management, initiatives, and assignments.Key responsibilities include identifying issues and risks associated with IT projects and coordinating with CHI programs and HHS IT to devise strategies for mitigation and resolution.
The position also entails providing technical support and training to CHI section IT liaisons, ensuring effective planning, prioritization, and delivery of IT solutions.
The individual will review, analyze, and ensure compliance with division and agency policies while developing strategies to enhance IT operations and project management.Participation in meetings on behalf of the division is essential, along with preparing presentations, project summaries, and briefing documents to inform and request action from leadership.
The role requires working independently with significant latitude for initiative and judgment.To fulfill these responsibilities, the position may necessitate additional hours to meet deadlines and support critical reporting requirements.

Manage the prioritization, planning, and initiation of complex division IT projects, overseeing the development and implementation of IT initiatives.
Identify challenges, risks, and opportunities, facilitating appropriate actions for resolution. Establish short-term, mid-term, and long-term objectives.Oversee high-profile projects and complex assignments directly from agency leadership related to CHI data modernization and IT solution development.
Maintain a project management log to track issues and their resolution status, reporting progress to division leadership. Collaborate with programs and HHSC IT to identify solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices. (30%)EJF 2.
Provide technical assistance, guidance, and training to CHI section IT liaisons in planning, prioritizing, and managing IT solutions and asset management.
Develop strategies to enhance IT operations and project coordination.Support section leadership in analyzing program requirements and developing new strategies for improved efficiency.
Work with sections to enhance operations and support IT initiatives and special projects.Assist in identifying and prioritizing section IT needs, ensuring alignment with agency and division goals by recognizing opportunities for technology utilization.
Monitor project progress and provide recommendations for initiatives addressing operational dependencies and efficiencies.
Lead monthly IT meetings with section IT liaisons. (25%)EJF 3. Interpret policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and standards from relevant agencies. Review and ensure compliance with division and agency policies. Develop and maintain division-level IT-related policies and procedures.
Assist in optimizing CHI operations by providing training on technical efficiencies.
Offer guidance on IT-related reports and presentations.Maintain division asset inventories and coordinate with IT staff and financial analysts for new purchases and renewals.

Represent the division in IT-related meetings and workgroups, preparing summaries and briefings for leadership and section IT liaisons.
