Position Details

This is a part-time position as a Canning Technician I, where your duties will encompass setting up and dismantling equipment, ensuring compliance with Clean-In-Place protocols, and maintaining the flow of cans throughout the canning process. Iron Heart promotes continuous learning and growth within the industry, providing onsite training and support.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting pay is $18 per hour.

  • Paid sick leave
Key Responsibilities
  • Transporting and setting up/taking down heavy machinery using a box truck for canning operations
  • Mixing chemicals and adhering to sanitation protocols
  • Setting up and troubleshooting equipment such as labelers and date coders
  • Conducting regular quality checks
  • Maintaining cleanliness of equipment to meet Iron Heart standards
  • Understanding and following company policies and regulations
  • Collaborating effectively with fellow technicians and brewery personnel
  • Safely operating heavy packaging machinery
  • Performing maintenance and repairs on packaging equipment
  • Adhering to mandatory break schedules

  • Physical capability to handle 150-lb. pallets, maneuver an 800-lb. canning line, and remain on your feet for extended shifts

  • Quick adaptability to evolving procedures
  • Knowledge of beer production or home brewing is advantageous
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 4-year college degree preferred but not mandatory
Physical Requirements

This role involves frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and various environmental conditions, including noise and temperature fluctuations.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Capability to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift regularly
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to push/pull up to 800 pounds on wheels
  • Capacity to perform repetitive motions to support canning line operations
