Job Title: Rehabilitation Psychologist

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of adults with traumatic brain injury, stroke, and other disabling conditions.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions, including psychoeducation, behavioral management, and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and provide consultation to referral sources.
  • Prepare timely documentation, including reports and progress notes, and maintain practice credentials.
  • Teach and mentor students, fellows, and housestaff in university and community settings.
  • Participate in research activities and contribute to the development of clinical, academic, and research programming.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology and licensure to practice in Virginia.
  • Relevant internship or postdoctoral training in rehabilitation, neuro, or health psychology.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and foster a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with patients in a medical setting and/or with new injuries/illness.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish new evidence-based clinical initiatives.
  • Leadership skills and ability to contribute to the field of psychology through professional organizations.
