Overview:
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking applications for an Enrollment Advisor. This role is pivotal in representing the institution to prospective students through various recruitment initiatives both on and off campus. The position entails significant travel commitments and the assessment of student applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversees a designated recruitment area.
• Reviews all incoming freshman and transfer applications for the fall semester within that area. This includes analyzing academic records, collaborating with school counselors to advocate for applicants, and ensuring consistent and fair admissions decisions through careful evaluation and attention to detail.
• Aims to attract a diverse student body that aligns with the institution's objectives.
• Acts as the primary contact for the recruitment area, ensuring consistent communication regarding admissions decisions. Participates actively in various admissions committees.
• Responds promptly to inquiries from prospective students and families via email, phone, and in-person meetings.
• Provides guidance to students regarding potential academic paths that correspond with their career aspirations, requiring strong listening and communication skills.
• Assists families in navigating the application process and develops alternative pathways for applicants who may not be initially accepted.
• Utilizes institutional technology to manage prospective student data, including application analysis and maintaining accurate records.
• Collaborates with the travel coordinator to devise an effective travel strategy aimed at reaching potential students. This involves analyzing past recruitment data to identify successful outreach opportunities.
• Coordinates travel logistics, including accommodation and transportation arrangements for recruitment events.
• Engages with prospective students through virtual platforms, ensuring accessibility and support.
• Represents the institution positively at recruitment events, including high school visits and college fairs, effectively communicating the benefits of the institution and the admissions process.
• Conducts presentations for prospective students and families, clearly outlining the institution's offerings and admissions criteria.
• Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree
Valid Driver's License
Availability for evening and weekend events
Preferred:
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong presentation and communication skills
Experience in customer service
Attention to detail
Capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs with or without accommodation
