Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at ProHealth Medical Group. As a Medical Assistant, you will provide direct care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician. Your goal will be to support an optimal healing community by working in partnership with patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare exam rooms in advance, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, and record health history.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or other patient records.
  • Assist with procedures, including preparing sterile fields and cleaning instruments.
  • Answer patient phone calls, obtain medical information, and report test results to patients under the direction of the Provider.
  • Prepare and administer medications, including oral and parenteral medications.
  • Provide patient education and follow-up care instructions.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies and disposing of expired medications.
  • Perform lab tests, including preparing specimens and recording results.
  • Assist with splinting, casting, or orthopedic appliance fitting.
  • Respond to urgent and emergency situations, calling for clinical assistance as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current state license required for LPNs, or American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a physician office as a MA or LPN.
  • Experience in any specialty area of practice is desirable.
  • BLS (CPR) certification required.
