We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team at the Mount Sinai Health System. As a Medical Physicist, you will play a critical role in the delivery of high-quality patient care, working closely with our team of radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Treatment Planning: Create accurate and personalized treatment plans for patients, taking into account their unique medical needs and circumstances.
- Machine QA: Conduct regular quality assurance checks on our treatment equipment to ensure it is functioning properly and safely.
- Special Procedures: Collaborate with our radiation therapists to develop and implement special procedures for patients, such as stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) and intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT).
- Teaching and Education: Provide educational support to our radiation oncology residents and medical physics residents, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge in clinical physics.
- Research and Development: Participate in clinical and experimental research projects, contributing to the advancement of our understanding of radiation oncology and the development of new treatments.
Our team of 14 board-certified physicists, 9 dosimetrists, 2 medical physics residents, and 17 radiation oncologists work together to provide comprehensive care to our patients. We are committed to delivering high-quality patient care, advancing our knowledge and skills, and contributing to the development of new treatments and technologies.
Requirements- Education: Master's degree in Medical Physics or a related field (Ph.D. preferred)
- Certification: Board-certified or eligible for board certification in Medical Physics
- Licensure: Possess or be eligible for a New York State Therapeutic Radiological Physics license
