ResponsibilitiesAs a Respiratory Therapist RRT, your key responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating the respiratory needs of patients and developing personalized care plans
- Administering respiratory therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy
- Monitoring patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation
- Assisting with placement of artificial airways and initiating, monitoring, and maintaining mechanical ventilation
- Responding to emergent patient situations and ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Current Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist licensure
- American Heart Association BLS health care provider certification, with ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications within 6 months of hire
- Graduate of a Respiratory Care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
- Frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and moving equipment
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Customer service abilities, including effective listening skills
