Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Meat Clerk to join our team at Harris Teeter. As a Meat Clerk, you will be responsible for processing, packaging, and stocking meat products according to Meat Standards. You will also be responsible for cleaning work areas, providing exceptional customer service, and performing duties of a seafood clerk when assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process, package, and stock meat products according to Meat Standards
  • Clean work areas and maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Provide exceptional customer service and respond to customer inquiries
  • Perform duties of a seafood clerk when assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information to customers, vendors, and associates
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Working Conditions

The work environment is cool with an average temperature range of 34-36 degrees Fahrenheit. You will be frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
