Project Surveyor

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a skilled Project Surveyor to join our team in Knoxville, TN.

Our survey professionals possess the expertise to deliver highly accurate results while maintaining quality control over data collected, from field to office, and precision of the final client deliverables.

We employ conventional surveying methods, cutting-edge geospatial scanning techniques, or a combination of both, to provide the most responsive and consistent professional survey services available.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and prepare complete boundary surveys by compiling record data and providing sound analysis and reason for accurate property line location.
  • Perform Quality Control review on reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and other contract documents prepared by others for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide accurate computations for the layout of subdivisions, roads, and lots as well as buildings and utilities.
  • Assist staff in the preparation of reports/findings, plans, and other contract documents.
  • Organize and coordinate the work of field and office staff required to complete design, field, and/or other tasks on more complex projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of project/task work plans.
  • Provide direction to staff to complete project objectives.
  • Monitor the work efforts of assigned staff, including sub-consultants and/or contractors.
  • May supervise assignments given to the Survey Technician(s).
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree preferred, or equivalent technical experience.
  • 5+ years of related surveying experience required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D, TBC (Trimble Business Center), and MicroStation.
  • Proficient in various data techniques and coding systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of various surveying instruments, techniques, and computations.
  • Advanced understanding of angular and linear measurement systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of trigonometry and geometry.
  • Valid driver's license required and ability to operate a motor vehicle. MVR will be checked and monitored.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
