We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Medical Care Associate to join our team at NYU Langone Health. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Overview

This role is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with admission/transfer/discharge of patients: Orient patients to the hospital environment, provide toileting supplies, assist patients in removing clothes and safeguarding personal property.
  • Conduct patient rounds for toileting, positioning, comfort, safety, and personal needs. Respond promptly to patient call lights and address their concerns.
  • Prepare patients for meals by clearing overbed tables, positioning patients correctly for eating, and assisting with feeding.
  • Perform and/or assist patients with simple treatments, such as removing and reapplying SCD wraps, and assisting with enema procedures.
  • Inform RNs of any clinical alarms, such as IV pumps, feeding pumps, ventilators, or bedside monitors.
  • Assist with moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients.
  • Change linen according to policy and as necessary.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of a Certified Nursing Attendant program or minimum 6 months relevant experience.
  • BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification (issued by the American Heart Association-AHA) is required upon entry to the position.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

The salary range for this position is $49,143.03 - $50,901.02 annually. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as experience, education, and performance.
