Respiratory Care Specialist

This role offers a sign-on bonus for eligible Registered Respiratory Therapists, with a 1-year commitment for full-time and some part-time positions. In addition to our comprehensive benefits package and paid time off, you may be eligible to participate in the Respiratory Clinical Ladder upon employment.
Job SummaryAs a Respiratory Therapist, you will perform all aspects of direct respiratory care according to physician's orders and/or approved protocols. You will consult physicians on the effectiveness of therapy and make appropriate recommendations. You will provide appropriate ventilator support and maintain and monitor other cardiopulmonary life support equipment. You will also maintain and properly utilize respiratory care equipment.
Responsibilities- You will demonstrate knowledge in various modes and methods of oxygen delivery and the equipment needed for each, and conduct prescribed therapeutic procedures to achieve adequate oxygenation.
- You will administer therapeutic procedures, understanding the purpose and benefits, and possible effects associated with each.
- You will perform diagnostic procedures as outlined in policy.
- You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilators and non-invasive ventilators, and be aware of the critical care duties and effects of such therapy.
- You will independently evaluate current therapies using appropriate judgment and protocols, making proper recommendations concerning plans of care and patient education needs.
- You will document therapy and results as required by hospital, department, and regulatory agencies. You will communicate information to appropriate members of the healthcare team.
- You will initiate, conduct, and modify respiratory care techniques in an emergency setting.
- You will perform and evaluate blood sampling analysis with a thorough understanding of the values, and the importance and treatment of abnormal results.
- You will work independently in all patient care areas and assist co-workers with patient care whenever possible.
- You will follow departmental safety guidelines. You will complete all regulatory requirements.
- You will complete annual proficiency evaluation of respiratory care equipment and procedures.
- You will be proficient in the electronic medical records and its interface with the Respiratory Care Department.
We offer a competitive salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package and paid time off. Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in the Respiratory Clinical Ladder program upon employment.
Requirements- You must have a graduate degree from an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
- You must be credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- You must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of North Carolina.
- You must hold a BLS certification per policy guidelines.
- You may be required to hold advanced certifications per facility policy/standards.
