Position Overview:

The role of the Pharmacy Technician encompasses a variety of responsibilities and daily tasks:

  • Facilitates pharmaceutical services by managing the stocking, assembling, and distribution of medications.
  • Assists healthcare providers and patients through in-person and telephonic interactions, addressing inquiries and directing questions to the pharmacist as necessary.
  • Oversees pharmacy inventory by evaluating pharmaceutical stock levels, anticipating required medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, confirming receipt, and discarding expired drugs.
  • Ensures a safe and hygienic pharmacy environment by adhering to established procedures, regulations, and guidelines.

  • Organizes medications for the pharmacist’s dispensing by interpreting medication orders and prescriptions, preparing labels, calculating quantities, and assembling intravenous solutions along with other pharmaceutical treatments.
  • Maintains accurate records by documenting and filing physicians' orders and prescriptions.
  • Contributes to revenue generation by calculating, recording, and issuing charges.
  • Guarantees medication accessibility by delivering medications to patients and various departments.
  • Prepares reports by gathering and summarizing relevant information.
  • Enhances team performance by achieving related objectives as required.
