About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Hershey Outpatient Surgery Center (HOSC). As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient safety and care.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, providing timely and effective support to ensure seamless operations.
  • Assist the circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Participate in the preparation and setup of surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are readily available.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure accurate and efficient sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, interacting with patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment, promoting a culture of teamwork and open communication.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology and certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in a surgical setting, with a strong understanding of sterile technique and operating room procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
