North American Truck & Trailer is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician.

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Inspections and Diagnostics:
Conduct thorough assessments of vehicles to detect mechanical, electrical, and other concerns.
Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify issues and recommend repairs.
Interpret diagnostic codes and computer-generated reports effectively.

Repairs and Maintenance:
Execute a diverse range of mechanical and electrical repairs, including engine overhauls, transmission servicing, brake maintenance, suspension work, and more.
Replace worn or defective components, such as belts, hoses, brakes, and filters.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid inspections.

Parts Replacement:
Identify and procure the appropriate parts and components necessary for repairs.
Install and replace parts in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety protocols.
Ensure proper fit, alignment, and functionality of all installed components.

Electrical and Electronic Systems:
Troubleshoot and rectify issues within electrical and electronic systems, including wiring, sensors, and ignition systems.
Address concerns related to vehicle lighting, computer systems, and accessories.

Customer Communication:
Engage with customers to discuss repair options, clarify necessary repairs, and provide cost estimates.
Deliver clear and comprehensible explanations of complex technical matters.
Keep customers updated on repair progress and expected completion times.

Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive records of all services performed, including parts utilized, labor hours, and diagnostic results.
Accurately complete service reports and invoices.

Quality Control:
Ensure that all repair and maintenance tasks comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
Conduct quality assurance checks on completed work to verify accuracy and readiness for customer delivery.

Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with vehicles and equipment.
Comply with environmental regulations regarding the proper disposal of hazardous materials.

Training and Development:
Participate in ongoing training to remain current with the latest automotive technologies and repair methodologies.
Provide mentorship and training to apprentice technicians as required.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an automotive technician training program is preferred.
Relevant automotive certification, such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence), is a plus.
Demonstrated experience as an Automotive Technician.
Strong understanding of automotive systems, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques.
Proficient in using diagnostic equipment and software.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Physical capability to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
