ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Human Resources Associate is tasked with a variety of responsibilities aimed at supporting the daily functions of the HR department.
The responsibilities include comprehending employment regulations and aligning existing policies and procedures, drafting HR documentation and templates, and collaborating with other department members to facilitate the hiring and onboarding processes for employees.
This position also involves executing bi-weekly payroll processes for three shifts and managing the employee benefits program to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal laws.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals aspiring to advance into future HR leadership roles. Please note that this position requires onsite presence.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Human Resources Operations
Assist in the daily management of Human Resources (HR) transactions in collaboration with a Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and compensation processes (including updating job descriptions, processing compensation requests and changes, and approving movements within the HRIS).
Assist in investigating various employee-related matters, incidents, and grievances; resolve conflicts and recommend suitable actions.
Support recruitment initiatives and hiring managers by conducting interviews, presenting job offers, coordinating candidate logistics, scheduling onboarding, and managing the training/orientation process.
Provide guidance to employees and management within the scope of the position; identify and respond sensitively to the needs of employees and business unit leaders.
Payroll Processing
Oversee the complete bi-weekly payroll process for exempt and non-exempt employees in the United States, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments. Collaborate with finance and relevant teams to address payroll-related inquiries.
Ensure compliance with state regulations by managing the employee registration process in each state where the company operates. Stay informed about state-specific employment laws and requirements.
Work with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely filing of state tax obligations related to payroll and benefits.
Employee Benefits Administration
Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee welfare initiatives. Educate employees about available benefits and assist with inquiries related to benefits enrollment. Serve as the project leader for open enrollment.
HR Reporting
Generate HR reports and metrics to provide insights to management and support strategic decision-making. Participate in delivering the New Hire Orientation program. Provide additional human resources and payroll support as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of five years of experience as an HR Business Partner with both exempt and non-exempt workforces.
• A minimum of five years of experience in multi-state payroll processing and benefits administration.
• Advanced knowledge of Paylocity Suite systems.
• Experience in managing benefits administration.
• Expert knowledge of federal and state labor and payroll & benefits laws and regulations.
• Proven ability to analyze payroll data, financial data, and activity reports to inform strategic decision-making.
• Strong proficiency in various software applications, particularly Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, filters, etc.).
• Excellent analytical, detail-oriented, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively under pressure to meet objectives and deadlines.
• Experience working independently while exercising sound judgment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Must successfully pass a comprehensive background and credit check.
• Flexibility to work varying hours during peak project periods.
• May require lifting or moving items up to 10 pounds.
