About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at the Y-12 National Security Complex. As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing complex engineering projects, ensuring timely completion, and meeting budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a multi-discipline engineering group, including internal and subcontracted teams, to deliver A/E Subcontractor performance and self-performed major equipment, component, and bulk material procurements.
  • Support Title II and III Design, miscellaneous procurements, startup, and testing activities within the LPF Engineering organization.
  • Ensure the Engineering organization's performance of the established scope of work is accomplished within budget and on schedule.
  • Review and approve design deliverables, ensuring technical input requirements are considered and incorporated, and reviews for constructability, acceptability, operability, maintainability, safety, etc., are performed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/science discipline with a minimum of seven years of relevant experience and a 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA.
  • OR a Master's degree in engineering/science discipline with a minimum of five years of relevant experience and a minimum 3.3/4.0 cumulative GPA.
  • OR a PhD in engineering/architecture/science discipline with two years of relevant experience and a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA.
  • DOE O requirements, including a Baccalaureate in engineering or related science, 2 years of job-related experience, and at least 1 year of nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States or designated equivalents from Canada or Mexico, the Washington Accord, or the list of substantially equivalent as documented by ABET.
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) is preferred, but not required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Architecture from a National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) accredited program in the United States. A Professional Architecture License is preferred, but not required.

Clearance Requirements

This position requires a Q clearance, which may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
