About the Role

LHH is seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team in Bloomington, Indiana. As a Product Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing new product lines from concept to launch, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development and release.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Development: Assist the design team in developing new products, including design reviews, finite element analyses, and manufacturability studies.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from beginning to end, including concept definition, designing, BOM selection, prototyping, and manufacturing.
  • Collaboration: Work with the design team to edit drawings to match customer specifications, collaborate with sales, client services, and engineering teams on client requests and custom projects.
  • Quality Assurance: Verify and validate new designs, conduct root cause analysis of quality issues during the design and manufacturing process.
  • Communication: Coordinate with operations and management personnel to develop a shared vision for daily tasks and report on activities.
  • Performance Reviews: Perform initial and ongoing product and performance reviews.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous work experience with plastics manufacturing, including overmolding, insert molding, injection molding, and/or extrusion, or a Bachelor's Degree in Plastics Engineering.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
  • Skills: Experience with program management and/or new product development, strong analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills, ability to read blueprints and CAD designs, excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Industry: Preference toward candidates from a highly regulated industry.
