We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Minister of Family Spiritual Development to join our team at Highland Park Presbyterian Church. This is a full-time position that reports directly to the Discipleship Pastor.

Our goal is to ensure that every child has access to quality spiritual formation, equipping them to navigate life's challenges and make informed decisions about their faith.
Job SummaryThe Minister of Family Spiritual Development will oversee Sunday morning classes for children, ensuring that each age group (Infants, Toddlers, 3s, 4-5s, Kinder, 1st, 2nd-3rd, 4th-5th) receives a safe, loving, fun, and spiritually edifying experience. This includes setting up rooms, leading check-in processes, observing potential areas for improvement or additional volunteer training, and enforcing child safety policies.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will have experience recruiting, developing, and deploying volunteer teams in a ministry or non-profit context. They will be responsible for:
- Preparation of resources for Sunday mornings, including lesson plans for teachers, printing necessary materials, and ensuring classrooms have necessary supplies.
- Volunteer management, including actively recruiting and onboarding new volunteers, scheduling volunteers in Planning Center, and ensuring they complete background checks and Protect My Ministry safety training.
- Launching and regularly teaching a 2x-month elementary-aged Wednesday night Bible study, as well as recruiting volunteers to assist with this program.
- Celebrating key family milestones with gifts and notes, emailing parents about Sunday lesson plans with suggested ways to engage with their children, and planning parenting talks per year from experts on relevant topics.
- Planning and executing special events like summer VBS, Family Advent Experience, Easter Egg Hunt, and Breakfast, and working with Grace Day School to collaborate on Fall Festival.
To be considered for this role, you must possess a BA or BS degree from an accredited college/university. You should also have at least 3 years of relevant ministry experience with kids, preferably in a similar capacity. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a self-starting attitude are essential for success in this position.
