Unique Opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) - North Region. As a LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate medication and nutrition through G-Tube or J-Tube, ensuring proper administration and patient safety.
  • Perform glucose monitoring and administer insulin to maintain optimal blood sugar levels in diabetic patients.
  • Conduct respiratory treatments to manage and improve breathing conditions in patients with respiratory challenges.
  • Provide colostomy, cecostomy, and urostomy care, ensuring hygiene and comfort for patients with ostomies.
  • Deliver wound care and catheterization, promoting healing and preventing infection in patients with complex needs.
  • Support individuals exhibiting challenging behaviors, using specialized techniques to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Communicate efficiently with non-verbal individuals, employing alternative communication methods to understand and respond to needs.
  • Collaborate with team members and community providers, fostering teamwork and continuity of care across settings.
Position Details
  • Location: 8 Card Street, Windham (Willimantic)
  • Full-time position, 70 hours/biweekly
  • Second (2nd) shift position
  • Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Wednesday, Thursday, 2:15pm – 11:00pm
  • Regular Days Off: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday
