The Cardiac Sonography Specialist is responsible for conducting diagnostic echocardiography examinations utilizing appropriate methodologies and standards within their professional scope. This role involves managing patient workflow and departmental operations effectively. The specialist is expected to exercise sound judgment in the maintenance of equipment and may undertake additional cardiology-related tasks as necessary. On-call duties may also be part of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute echocardiography tests following established protocols
  • Gather patient medical history for accurate assessment
  • Conduct quality control checks as mandated
  • Facilitate patient care to enhance overall satisfaction
  • Inform patients and their families about the procedures
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records
  • Adhere to safety regulations and protocols

Educational Qualifications: Associate degree in Ultrasound/Sonography

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer certification from CCI or ARDMS
  • Current CPR Certification

Experience: No prior experience required

Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of three years of clinical experience in echocardiography is desirable

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Expertise in performing diagnostic echocardiography
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Proficient in utilizing Cardiology Information Systems
