Job Summary

The Co-Manager is a key member of the RaceTrac team, responsible for supporting the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations and sales of a high-volume convenience store retail outlet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Experience
    • Provide exceptional customer service, greeting and interacting with guests in a genuine manner, and suggesting products to enhance their experience.
    • Address guest concerns and resolve issues in a prompt and courteous manner.
    • Foster positive relationships with co-workers and guests, communicating respectfully and maintaining a consistent team-oriented attitude.
  • Profitability
    • Assist in controlling inventory and the flow of materials, merchandise, and supplies.
    • Work with the General Manager to determine the type and quantity of merchandise to be bought, stocked, and sold.
  • People Development
    • Set a leading example of RaceTrac's Core Values, Leadership Qualities, and the RaceTrac Way to the entire team.
    • Support the General Manager in managing the store operation.
    • Direct, plan, and apportion the work of store team members on designated shifts.
    • Supervise, coach, train, and develop store team members.
    • Provide feedback on employee performance and development to the General Manager.
  • Clean, Safe, Fast & Full
    • Maintain inventory in a neat and organized manner.
    • Supervise and monitor adherence to all safety-related regulations, including food safety regulations.
    • Participate in daily store operational activities, including:
      • Ringing up guests on the cash register and balancing cash and inventory transactions.
      • Ensuring the store is clean and well-maintained.
      • Stocking shelves and coolers and taking inventory on shelf items.
      • Receiving vendor deliveries.
      • Ordering inventory and supplies.
  • Qualifications
    • 3-5 years of work experience preferred.
    • 1+ years of management experience preferred.
    • Vendor management experience preferred.
    • Previous experience working in a high-volume, guest-focused, transactional environment preferred.
    • 1+ years of experience in a retail environment preferred.
