Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at WVU Medicine. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and explain exams to patients, assessing their needs and providing support accordingly.
  • Ensure all required consent, history, and screening forms are completed and verified prior to performing procedures.
  • Plan and produce ultrasound images of diagnostic quality, selecting appropriate scanning and imaging parameters, and forwarding completed exams to physicians for evaluation.
  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge and technical competence in the position, maintaining professional and technical competencies as required by the organization, accreditation, and licensing bodies.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved school and/or certification, RDMS/RVT/CCI-RCS certification as applicable.
  • Obtain Ultrasound Registration within one year of hire, if hired after 1/1/2019.
  • Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 30 days of hire.

  • Basic computer knowledge to document effectively.
  • Ability to be scheduled for work based on the operational needs of the hospital.
  • Possess the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with patients and the general public.
